recently i've noticed a theory spreading around the scientific/philosophical world that the garden of eden was simply a myth of the fertile crescent.
it's sounds plausible when you actually think about it.
there are multiple different theories concerning it, but the most famous one is that the original hebrews were cast out of the area by a more powerful tribe, and doomed to live in the outside-non-civilized wild world.
I don't believe any part of the Bible, except what historians and anthropologists have found to be true through artifacts.
dear drinkers:.
beer buzzes me but wine does not speak to me .... can you speak from personal experience?.
scientif studies welcomes if you have no epxperience.. cocoo.
Three drinks of anything is my limit.
I have to stir the bubbles out of beer or it gives me problems.
I've had a bottle of beer and then a glass of wine with meals and it doesn't do anything but buzz me gently.
i got into one of those extended conversations with relatives i haven't spoken to in ages.
it was full of things unsaid and careful avoidance of saying too much about the organization.
lots of nice social hypocrisy, so nobody gets upset in the fairy-tale world of watchtower-ism.. is there any discreet, tactful, inoffensive way to tell them, "the organization is dying"?
Willy,
I borrowed your statement. If you'd rather I erase it where I put it, I will.
i can't say my life was ruined because i was a witness.
still, i wish that my upbringing was different.
there's a lot i don't like at all about the witnesses but by the same token, there are some very good people who happen to be jws.. i'm sure some of you hated your life as a witness and i'm sure you have valid reasons..
Not horrible, as my parents' problems were not caused by the WTS.
It was very depressing to me to grow up without joy.
It was so frustrating to be told "no" every time I wanted to do something fun, something NORMAL.
I lived an empty childhood and part adulthood trying to do the right thing because it was beat into me.
I saw kids at school and in the neighborhood playing together, having fun, and having joyful celebrations regularly throughout the year that I never had.
A joyful life was flaunted before my eyes 24/7 for 37 years since birth.
I knew what to do to be happy, but those things were prohibited.
Now, I do whatever it takes to be happy.
I'm free to do what's necessary to be happy.
The only bosses I have are at my place of work and U.S. Law.
It's easy to work within those laws.
WT laws drive people to their graves.
this morning as i was driving back home from putting rug rat #2 in pre-school, i saw one middle-school boy throw another kid into some thorny bushes at our local bus stop.
the kid sailed through the air and landed face down.
i stopped to see what had gone down.
I homeschooled mine for the same reasons.
The kids are out of control and the adults are too wimpy to handle it, both parents and school administrators.
That teenage boy was acting out for attention he wasn't getting from his partying mother.
I recognized that right away.
He wanted and needed his mom but she wasn't there for him.
No. I like Mexicans
this may not be new to some of you but look at this sign-language video done by the society on learn from the great teacher.. not sure if it will show up:.
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/booarcubyiy" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>.
if that doesn't work here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=booarcubyiy.
Wanna get freaked out more?
Watch ASL story telling videos.
They are really good.

You haven't watched many ASL videos, have you?
Watch Ben Behan (Google him and watch videos).
They all look like this.
Grammar is in the facial expressions and is a requirement.
Big eyes, raised eyebrows, mouth movements are all grammar.
I guess I can understand how ASL done right could scare the shit out of hearies, lol!
Yeah, okay. I see it now. hahahahaha
But really, it's so nice to see someone doing it the right way.
He's not interpreting anything from another person talking.
That makes all the difference.

Nope, not creepy at all.
That guy is a very good signer.
That is the proper way to sign in front of an audience on stage.
That is why interpreters are a poor replacement for the real thing.
Grammar is perfect or near perfect.
Their videos are very good for learning ASL and ASL poetry (Kingdom Melodies), but once you understand the gist of what they are saying, it'll make you sick.
I couldn't even finish it. Sorry.
I recommend anything from Gallaudet University, instead.
The quality is just as good but it is geared toward teaching the language and culture, not a religion.
Bird of a Different Feather by Ben Behan Ph.D will put you through ASL boot camp.
It'll kick your butt.
